FOX Corporation has established a Stop Work policy, to be used in response to observed hazardous conditions of health and safety procedural violations,
which could cause serious injury to company personnel or significant damage to company property.
1.0 SCOPE
This Procedure establishes the mechanism for the issuance of a Stop Work Order, during all FOX Corporation (FOX) activities.
2.0 Definitions
Stop Work Order:
A Stop Work Order is a directive to immediately cease work, issued for failure to follow established procedures, the presence of an imminent danger
situation, etc.
3.0 Responsibilities
In addition to required Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Program responsibilities discussed in EHS001,
EHS Policy, the responsibilities described below are necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the procedure.
3.1 Department Heads
Department Heads will ensure that all personnel are aware of their responsibility and authority with respect to issuance of a Stop Work Order.
3.2 Employees
All FOX employees are authorized to issue a Stop Work Order if they observe any potentially serious, unsafe condition or activities that do not comply with
established EHS requirements.
3.3 Environmental, Health and Safety Department
The EHS Department will be notified of each Stop Work Order and will evaluate each case to determine if:
1. The Stop Work Order is legitimate and necessary.
- Appropriate corrective actions are implemented to warrant removal of the Stop Work Order.
4.0 Procedure
Stop-work authority applies to all work performed at FOX locations.
- All FOX personnel are authorized to issue a Stop Work Order if an identified unsafe condition exists.
- FOX Management may also issue a Stop Work Order to an on-site contractor organization when, in their opinion, the work area or work practices are not
safely managed or maintained. - When a Stop Work Order is invoked, the work operations must cease until the responsible organization resolves the problem(s) and brings the work
area(s) to satisfactory conformance with established EHS requirements. - The EHS Department must be notified immediately by the person issuing a Stop Work Order. The EHS Department can be reached at 310.369.2671 or via email
at fngsafety@fox.com. - The EHS Department must evaluate the circumstances involved and will terminate or extend the order, as necessary, to ensure that proper worksite health
and safety is maintained.
Those employees, who do not wish to be identified, but have significant concerns pertaining to worker health and safety, are encouraged to use FOX’s Safety
