FOX Drone Policy:
EHS 419 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
UAS/Drone use cannot commence until review and approval are granted from EHS and Risk Management.
PRIOR to use of a UAS/Drone:
Step 1. Review and obtain approval with a FOX Approved Vendor and review the AMPTP Safety Bulletin #36 on Safely Working Around UAS
Step 2. Complete Questionnaire & Acknowledgement form.
Step 3. Request a Certificate of Insurance from the UAS/Drone owner/operator evidencing the FOX insurance requirements
Step 4. Send the following to EHS and Risk Management:
- Completed Questionnaire & Acknowledgement Form with input from UAS/Drone operator as needed
- Certificate of Insurance complying with Insurance Requirements on Page 3
- Operations Manual
- Pre & Post Flight Inspection Checklists
Step 5. EHS and Risk Management will reach out to discuss safety of the project and provide approval
PRIOR to use of a UAS/Drone in Los Angeles City:
In addition to the steps listed above, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) requires a PERMIT to operate a drone anywhere in the city. EHS can assist with questions regarding the permit submission, if needed. Please complete the additional documents here.
