Medical Emergency Responses:
In the event of an emergency the RN on duty will respond to medical emergencies on the lot, the Plaza and the Fab Building.
Examples of Medical Emergencies and Serious Conditions include:
- Chest Pain
- Loss of Consciousness (e.g., injury, fainting, collapsing or seizure)
- Difficulty Breathing or Shortness of Breath for any reason
- Head Injury
- Major Laceration, Amputation or Uncontrolled Bleeding
- Major Injury (e.g., open chest wound with trouble breathing; spinal or neck injury with loss of sensation or movement; obvious fracture or visible bone; penetrating wound)
- Fall from heights
- Major Burns
- Altered Mental Status
- Slurred Speech
- Severe Allergic Reaction (e.g., Bee sting reaction with possible throat closure, hives or swelling of whole limb) or Acute Asthma Attack (which does not respond to usual medication)
We provide care for work and non-work related injury/illness
Some of the services we provide:
- Administer Over-the-Counter (OTC) medications
- TDAP (Tetanus, Diptheria and Pertusis) vaccine for all work-related injuries
- Hydration and electrolytes
- Wound care
- Steri-strips
- Splinter removal
- Blood Pressure monitoring
- Blood Sugar Monitoring
- Sprain/Strain care
- Eye injuries
- Referral to outside facilities if further medical attention is needed
- Initiate and Facilitate Workers Compensation claims
